Frequently asked

Questions we hear often.

How is this different from a typical consulting engagement?
Every engagement begins with a 360° assessment before any recommendation: no strategy without diagnosis. And what we build is meant to be executed, not filed away: a roadmap with owners, timelines and KPIs attached.
Do we need to commit to all five phases?
Not at all. The model is modular: you can enter at whichever phase matches where the need actually is, from a short Strategy Sprint to a full Strategy Transformation.
Who actually does the work: you, or a team?
Isana and Lara lead every engagement personally. We bring in specialist support only where a project genuinely needs it, and we tell you upfront when that's the case.
How long before we see results?
Most engagements surface concrete quick wins within the first 90 days of the Activate phase, while the fuller strategic outcomes build over the following 12–18 months.
What size of company do you work with?
From founder-led salon brands to multi-country divisions of global groups. What matters more than size is that leadership is genuinely ready to act on what we find.
What does a beauty & haircare strategy consultant actually do?
We diagnose why growth has stalled, across brand positioning, channel strategy, portfolio, pricing and operations, then build a roadmap your team can actually execute, with clear owners, timelines and KPIs. Depending on the phase, that can mean workshops with your lead team, market and competitive analysis, a strategic roadmap, or fractional leadership embedded inside your business.
How much does a strategy consulting engagement cost?
It depends on scope. A focused Strategy Sprint (diagnosis plus roadmap) runs 8 to 12 weeks at a fixed fee, while a full Strategy Transformation spans 12 to 18 months. Fractional and interim leadership are typically retained on a monthly basis. Every engagement starts with a conversation so we can scope the right model for where you actually are.
What's the difference between a strategy consultant and a fractional executive?
A strategy consultant diagnoses the problem and builds the plan. A fractional or interim executive (CEO, GM, Regional VP, Commercial Growth Officer or Education Leader) sits inside your business and runs the execution, part-time or full-time, for as long as the transition needs. We do both, and many clients move from one to the other as the engagement evolves.
Do you work with distributor and salon channel strategy specifically?
Yes, this is where we spend most of our time. Distributor evaluation and contract negotiation, salon education programme design, front-line capability building and channel go-to-market strategy are core to how professional and luxury haircare brands actually grow, and it's the part of the business most generalist consultants misunderstand.
How is professional haircare different from mass-market beauty, strategically?
Professional and luxury haircare brands grow through relationships, not just retail shelf space: salon education, distributor partnerships, artist and ambassador programmes, and front-line advocacy all matter as much as the product itself. Strategy that treats the channel like any other FMCG category tends to stall in execution. That's the gap we specialise in closing.
